The phraseological field is very little studied, few bilingual dictionaries deal with phraseological units. Hence our interest in the study of the translatability of these fixed expressions, focusing on those related to the human body, namely somatisms, which play an important role in the lexicon of natural languages. Phraseological units convey a very strong social value and therefore require a detailed analysis for the application of a series of specific translatological procedures. The aim of this research is to try to translate a corpus of UF with somatisms from Wolof into the Spanish and French languages by specifying the most appropriate translation procedures and techniques. This report proposes to deal with the cultural obstacles faced by the translator, as well as the paramount importance of understanding the fixed expressions in their globality, linguistic and extra-linguistic levels, before starting to translate.
