Un libro d'artista di Cesare Biratoni. Una raccolta eterogenea di frammenti, macchie, segni e ritagli accumulati e preparati per potenziali dipinti talvolta eseguiti, altre volte eseguiti ma non riusciti, altre ancora mai realizzati e solo immaginati o sperati. Ogni pagina del libro è pensata come fosse un racconto, nel quale le immagini dialogano con campiture di colore, linee e parole. I frammenti sono parte di una tavolozza visiva che si dispone in modi e composizioni senza mai arrivare ad una soluzione definitiva.
Cesare Biratoni è un artista nato a Barcellona nel 1969, vive attualmente a Busto Arsizio. La sua pratica si sviluppa principalmente con la pittura e con il collage; il dialogo tra tecniche e linguaggi differenti sono alla base della sua riflessione. Da sempre interessato al complesso rapporto tra fotografia e pittura, ha negli anni sviluppato una poetica che cerca di coniugare la ferma temporalità dell'immagine fotografica con le dinamiche imprevedibili del medium pittorico.
Ha partecipato a diversi progetti espositivi e curatoriali; ha contribuito alla fondazione e alla gestione di Riss(e) e Surplace, due artist-run space a Varese. Con Ermanno Cristini dirige la rivista Bordi, uno spazio critico di discussione per artisti, filosofi e teorici dell'arte. Ha esposto in gallerie e musei pubblici e privati, in mostre personali e collettive.
