Apologia Pro Hibernia Adversus Cambri Calumnias is a refutation of the writings of Giraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales) regarding the history and supposed marvels of Ireland, and his account of the conquest of the island. Written by Stephanus Vitus and edited by Kelly, this work defends Ireland against the calumnies and fables propagated by Cambrensis in his De Mirabilibus Hiberniae and Historia Vaticinalis, Sive Expugnationis Ejusdem Insulae. This edition presents Vitus's response, offering a counter-narrative to Cambrensis's influential, yet often biased, perspective on Irish history and culture.
