Non si tratta di un semplice commentario accademico. Attraversando questi testi, l'autore ricostruisce l'epopea dell'anima spirituale: la sua origine nel Pleroma, la caduta nel mondo della materia a opera di potenze arroganti e ignoranti - gli Arconti - e il cammino di risveglio che la gnosi rende possibile. Il Dio geloso della Bibbia si rivela essere il Demiurgo Yaldabaoth, il serpente dell'Eden diventa l'Istruttore luminoso, Eva è la portatrice della scintilla divina, e l'intera storia della Genesi si rovescia in un racconto di liberazione.
La tesi che percorre l'opera è tanto audace quanto fondata: il mito gnostico non è un ornamento narrativo, ma l'unico linguaggio capace di risvegliare quella memoria profonda - la memoria noetica - che le potenze di questo mondo hanno ogni interesse a mantenere sepolta. Non si impara la gnosi: la si riconosce, perché è già dentro di noi.
Questo libro è per chi cerca una comprensione non banale dello gnosticismo storico. Per chi sospetta che dietro la superficie della realtà agiscano meccanismi di controllo e oblio. E per chi ha sempre sentito, senza mai saperlo formulare, che la propria vera origine è altrove.
