Lo sviluppo comunitario (CD) è un processo collaborativo e partecipativo che consente ai membri di una comunità di appropriarsi del proprio sviluppo, facendo leva sui loro punti di forza, sulle loro risorse e sulle loro visioni per creare un cambiamento positivo e sostenibile. Mira a responsabilizzare le comunità coinvolgendole attivamente nella pianificazione, nel processo decisionale e nell'attuazione di progetti che rispondano alle loro esigenze specifiche. Lo sviluppo comunitario si concentra sulla popolazione locale. Da diversi anni mi occupo di sviluppo comunitario ed è per questo che è stato realizzato questo libro, per aiutare a costruire la capacità degli attori dello sviluppo di agire in modo efficace e per aiutare la comunità ad agire in modo autonomo, ad assumersi la responsabilità del proprio sviluppo e a farsi carico del proprio futuro.
