*The book is about a journey of discovery around and about our Solar System, to explore how it was formed and how eventually the Sun and the planets came into being. Our Universe came into being around 13.82 billion years ago, and the formation of our Barred Spiral Galaxy came about 13.21 billion years ago after the collapse of a giant molecular cloud. Finally, about 4.54 billion years ago in between one of the Galaxy s spiral arms, a cloud of interstellar gas collapsed, and thus our solar system was born.
*The contents of the book cover many varied aspects of the Solar System including- * How the Solar System came into being and how it formed into its present structure. * Details about planet sizes, their rotation tilts, and distances from the Sun. * Looking at the structure of the Sun, its magnetic fields and solar winds. * Looking in-depth at the inner rocky planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, and then examining their structure and composition, and mainland features. * Examining the Asteroid/Kuiper Belts plus the Oort Cloud surrounding the solar system. * Looking in-depth at the outer gas planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the dwarf planet Pluto, their structure and composition, plus their fascinating moons.
