Kant's Prolegomena to Any Future Metaphysics is a philosophical work by one of the most influential thinkers of the Enlightenment, Immanuel Kant. In this book, Kant provides an introduction to his critical philosophy, which seeks to establish the limits and possibilities of human knowledge. The Prolegomena is divided into four parts, each of which addresses a different aspect of Kant's philosophy. In the first part, Kant argues that metaphysics must be based on a priori knowledge, which is knowledge that is independent of experience. He also introduces his distinction between analytic and synthetic judgments, which will be important throughout the book. The second part of the Prolegomena is devoted to Kant's critique of traditional metaphysics, which he argues is based on flawed assumptions and reasoning. He also presents his famous distinction between phenomena (the world as it appears to us) and noumena (the world as it is in itself), which he argues cannot be known directly. In the third part, Kant discusses the principles of his own critical philosophy, including the role of the mind in shaping our experience of the world and the importance of the categories of understanding. Finally, in the fourth part, Kant applies his critical philosophy to various metaphysical questions, including the existence of God and the immortality of the soul. He argues that these questions cannot be answered definitively, but that they must be approached with a critical and skeptical attitude. Overall, Kant's Prolegomena to Any Future Metaphysics is a foundational work of modern philosophy that continues to influence philosophical thinking today. It is a challenging but rewarding read for anyone interested in the nature and limits of human knowledge.1912. Based on the 1902 translation of Prolegomena by Carus. With an essay on Kants philosophy, and other supplementary material for the study of Kant. Kants Prolegomena, although a small book, is indubitably the most important of his writings. It furnishes us with a key to his main work, The Critique of Pure Reason; in fact, it is an extract containing all the salient ideas of Kants system. It approaches the subject in the simplest and most direct way, and is therefore best adapted as an introduction into his philosophy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
