Volume 1 of my 'real life' story tells of my growing up years in the East End of London from my birth in 1951 until I moved on to pastures anew in 1974. Together with brother John, 16 months my junior, we embarked upon adventures that are no longer viable in today's Health and Safety led environment. You will read of how our little brother suffered many trials and tribulations during the time that we were charged with looking after him. It is said by many people of a similar age to myself that the era in which we grew up can never be repeated and was possibly the best days of our lives. There are of course others that would dispute that statement, however the East End, back in the day, was uniquely different to most other places and many of us, myself included, look back upon that period with great satisfaction.
