Many have spoken of Words of Faith. A British Broadcasting Corporation programme that went on air for decades with that title, which people listened to regularly, left little impression. There are spiritual teachers, preachers, priests and iconic masters aplenty, and some now even create apps for developing spirituality. If it were that easy, why does it seem that the lives and teachings of those Who Lived the Faith, like Jesus and, many centuries before him, Siddharth Gautam Buddha, leave us feeling confused, depressed, and lacking in Faith? Look around you, every day, you see millions dying, diseased or tortured by those who wield weapons and power, and crush sincerity and honesty. Is there really no hope? If human values suggested by all are meant to Create Hope, why do they ultimately leave us feeling cheated by good values, failures in love? We may agree with The Bible that says: And now these three things remain: Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Yet, if humans find no love from other humans, no love from God or, in the case of some, Shiva, or no sense of reprieve with the help of some gods, goddesses or saints, hoping in vain they shall relieve us from intolerable emotional suffering, worse than the lack of food and things money can buy, what love remains? But with no love, hope dies. And then Faith dies. The quotable quote from The Bible seems meaningful only in the meaningless-ness of life. Should we then not ask ourselves, very sincerely, if we want to be happy: What is Faith? Why is Love more important than Faith? Here are verses that allow us to look deep, and hope to see Hope.
