Nineteen-year-old Miranda Buckhorn is found naked and dead in an empty lot in Richmond, Virginia. The investigation leads Detectives Tony Pantera and his partner, Harry Overmeyer, into an investigation of Circe Enterprises, a corporation that is so secretive that nobody is allowed to go anywhere inside the building unescorted. Clues lead to suspicions, but not to any conclusions, as the detectives work their way towards attempting to solve the case. They soon discover that Claude Paulson, the new chief executive of the Richmond offices for Circe, had his own reasons to kill the girl, not to mention his personal security guard has gone missing. As the investigation leads to a number of puzzling questions, and as the body count begins to grow, the puzzle becomes even murkier. Did Paulson kill Miranda? If not, who did? And what happened to Paulson's personal security guard? The answers are not as obvious as they seem.
