Karl Heinrich Ulrichs is not only the first known Gay activist, he was also a classicist. The original German 42-page, 1880 version, Apicula Latina: Lateinische Studentenlieder: Mit angehängten kleinen deutschen Poesien, contains approximately 14 unnumbered songs and items in Latin and 24 poems and epigrams in German. Besides extensive notes, it contains two awards Ulrichs received for two of his student songs.
