Diabetes mellitus is a disease in which people suffer because of the inappropriately increased levels of blood sugar in their body. More than 530 million adults, between the ages of 20 and 80 years, currently live with this disease. It is one of the fastest growing afflictions in the world, and each year, about 7 million people are added to the list of diabetics.
