A must-read for anyone curious about mysterious phenomena.

For more than half a century, the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster has fascinated believers, sceptics, scientists and dreamers alike. But for Tony Harmsworth, Nessie was never just a legend. She became part of a lifelong personal journey.

In Loch Ness, Nessie and Me, Harmsworth combines memoir, mystery, travel writing and cryptozoological investigation in an engaging exploration of one of the world's most enduring unsolved phenomena. From childhood fascination to living almost fifty years on the lochside, he traces both the history of the monster and his own evolving relationship with the mystery. This comprehensive book covers the area's geography, geology and natural history; the evidence pro and con Nessie; and the way the famous mystery has changed the industry surrounding the loch.

Blending eyewitness accounts, folklore, media history and personal reflection, the book examines why Nessie continues to capture imaginations across generations. Was there ever something unexplained in the dark waters of Loch Ness? Why do some people believe so passionately while others dismiss the mystery entirely? And what does our fascination with hidden creatures reveal about human curiosity itself?

Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, this thoughtful and often nostalgic book is not a dry scientific study nor an attempt at sensational debunking. Instead, it is a warm, intelligent and open-minded exploration of mystery, belief, folklore and the enduring appeal of the unknown.

Ideal for readers interested in Loch Ness, cryptozoology, unexplained phenomena, Scottish folklore and personal journeys of discovery, Loch Ness, Nessie and Me will especially appeal to fans of Fortean mysteries, paranormal history and reflective non-fiction with a strong sense of place and personality.

It contains all the most important photographs, and sonar charts, which are analysed in detail.

For anyone who has ever stared into dark water and wondered what might still remain undiscovered, this book offers both companionship and intrigue.

***** Best read on the subject yet -This book is a very good read. I say it is a must have book for anyone interested in the Loch Ness Monster myth. I enjoyed the way it was written and the amount of detail concerning all the different searches and theories that abound is dealt with extremely well. Once again a great read.

***** The truth of the matter - This is THE book you have to read to understand the legend of Loch Ness. A captivating, well-written and thoroughly documented essay on the most famous lake in the world, augmented with fascinating biographical details on the man who has lived on its shores for more than 40 years (the Author himself). I really liked this book!

***** A fascinating book that caught my attention immediately - You can see that Tony has spent many years correlating the historical and geological information. Not only does this book approach the subject from a scientific stance, but also incorporates local mythology. The painstaking research Tony has provided in regards investigation and research into the mysteries of the Loch and its possible residents is also a delightful and informative read. One of the best books I have ever read on the subject of Loch Ness and of course... Nessie.WELL WORTH A READ!STEVE MERA - EDITOR PHENOMENA MAGAZINE
