Samuel, a lover of dark humor, meets a group of like-minded individuals called the Lovers of Dark humor. They push the boundaries of socially acceptable jokes, but their humor becomes increasingly twisted. They plan to stage a mock murder in an abandoned mental institution, which makes Samuel uncomfortable, but he goes along with it. However, during the setup, Samuel sees a pair of glowing red eyes in the darkness, and his friends reveal it was all part of the joke. Samuel is locked in a room and realizes his love for dark humor has led him down a path of madness. He escapes but is haunted by nightmares. His friends invite him back to the mental institution, where they reveal their true psychopathic nature and try to kill him. Samuel narrowly escapes with the help of the creature with glowing red eyes. He vows to never cross the line between dark humor and true horror again.
Samuel, who had escaped the clutches of his former friends in an abandoned mental institution, finds himself in a dark and eerie forest. He is haunted by the feeling of being watched and is unsure who he can trust. The creature with glowing red eyes, who had saved him before, reappears and warns him that his former friends are still after him. Samuel takes refuge in a cabin but is attacked by a werewolf. To his surprise, the werewolf helps heal his wounds and reveals that they share a common enemy. Samuel and the werewolf prepare to face his former friends, who have found them in the cabin.

Samuel and his companion find themselves in a series of encounters with the Keepers of the Dark, a group of hooded figures who worship darkness and seek to bring about a new age of darkness. They face off against the Keepers in various locations, including an abandoned hotel and a sealed room with strange symbols. Along the way, they encounter strange creatures and experience the influence of dark energy. Despite their efforts to defeat the Keepers, they realize that the darkness is still present and that they must continue their journey to confront it. They encounter whispers, glowing red eyes, and more encounters with the Keepers, but they also find allies, including a werewolf. Together, they face the Keepers in their headquarters and manage to temporarily repel them. However, they are warned that the Keepers will not give up easily and that they must remain vigilant.
