Love's Labour's Lost is a play written by William Shakespeare in 1598. The story follows four young men, the King of Navarre and his three friends, who swear an oath to devote themselves to study and celibacy for three years. However, their plans are disrupted when the Princess of France and her three ladies arrive on a diplomatic mission. The men fall in love with the women and begin to court them, breaking their oath. The play is filled with witty banter, puns, and wordplay, and explores themes of love, courtship, and the power of language. It is a comedic play that ends with a twist, leaving the audience to ponder the nature of love and the consequences of breaking oaths. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
