Who was the first woman ever drafted into the NBA? Who made history as the first woman to score in an Olympic basketball game? Who led her college team to three consecutive national championships, dominating the court like no other? Who helped pave the way for generations of female athletes, yet remained largely unsung in the history books? The answer to all these questions is Lusia Lucy Harris; a true basketball trailblazer whose story has too often been overlooked.
From her humble beginnings in Mississippi to standing at the pinnacle of women's basketball, her journey is one of talent, determination, and groundbreaking achievements. She shattered barriers, led Delta State to glory, helped Team USA claim silver in the first-ever Olympic women's basketball tournament, and was immortalized in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame; yet her impact extends far beyond the game. How did she navigate the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated sport? Why didn't she play in the NBA despite being drafted? What struggles did she face after her playing career ended? This book is here to answer these questions and many more. Through deep research, personal accounts, and a detailed exploration of her extraordinary life, this biography brings Lusia Harris' legacy to life like never before. If you love basketball, history, or inspiring stories of perseverance, this book is a must-read. Get your copy today and discover the untold story of a true pioneer!
