Maisy Daisy looked forward to the day she would soar and fly with her new wings. However, when that day came, she discovered her wings were mismatched and she feared her lack of symmetry would not allow her to fly. Her friend, Katy Cicada, taught her the that mismatched wings did not necessarily mean unbalanced and that asymmetry can be just as balanced and interesting as symmetry.
The Learn About Art Series teaches young artists about the elements (line, shape, form, color, texture, value, and space) and principles (contrast, balance, movement, emphasis, rhythm, pattern, and unity) of design with fun, whimsical characters and rhyming text providing a creative means for learning about the building blocks of art.
