The Making Of An Orator. PREFACE. The object of this book is to indicate in popular language a course of practice in oratory, based on the writers observation and experience, in the House of Commons, at the Bar, and on the Platform. It is intended for students, young or old, who have had no practice in public speaking, and for speakers who are not unwilling to consider suggestions made by another. The various examples have been selected as models of the form and structure of great speeches, and wiI1, it is hoped, appeal to all lovers of noble eloquence as well as to those who aspire to oratorical eminence.
