Hakim Dessalines was one of thousands of exceptional young Black men and young Black women buried alive in experimental Hibernation Berths inside the high-tech Preserver, a facility hidden underneath the African Wilderness. Awakened eons later by the Artificial Intelligence known as Orisha, Hakim and his fellow Wayfarers, including former Atlanta TV newswoman Amira Kizito, and Howard University football player Jasper Jackson, must face an uncertain future. They're the only Humans left alive. This is what comes after the End of the World. Afro-Futurism at its very best.
