They are both in the Navy;George is a Navy Pilot and Gladys is a Navy nurse. They meet when the country is at war with the Japanese in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. George is out on patrol with his command, and they are heading back to Pearl Harbor when they come under attack from gunfire down below. They fight well until George is shot down and wakes up in a Navel hospital, where he had a coma in Hawaii. Both of them hit it off from the first look when George wakes up, and they begin a lasting relationship. The story is a real tear-jerker so be prepared to shed a couple of tears, that's OK all of us need to shed a tear once in a while to warm our hearts, and to show our love for one another.
