Moby Dick Or The Whale is a classic novel written by Herman Melville, first published in 1851. The book tells the story of Ishmael, a sailor who embarks on a whaling voyage aboard the Pequod, a ship captained by the obsessed and vengeful Ahab. Ahab is determined to hunt down and kill the great white whale, Moby Dick, who had previously destroyed his ship and left him with a wooden leg. As the crew sets sail, Ishmael and his shipmates encounter various challenges and dangers, including storms, mutiny, and encounters with other whales. Along the way, Melville explores themes of obsession, revenge, fate, and the nature of man's relationship with nature. The novel is known for its complex symbolism, vivid descriptions of whaling and seafaring life, and its powerful and haunting ending. Moby Dick Or The Whale is considered a masterpiece of American literature and is widely regarded as one of the greatest novels ever written.Call me Ishmael. Some years ago -- never mind how long precisely -- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
