For a start, President Filip III of the Beesidian Republic has authorised a mission, an expedition south to investigate the continents of Teenin and Wyive. He really wants to find out about the advanced technology the Wyivian, Janol, was using when he travelled through the neighbouring continent of Estoo. After all, the second meeting between Janol and the Republic couldn't go any more wrong than the first meeting, could it? So when Janol is kidnapped and taken back to the Republic, he is not happy about the situation and he is definitely not going to stand trial for the dubious crime of being an android. All Janol wants to do is return home, but instead he gets caught up with executions, revolutionaries, robbing banks and destroying presidential statues. Then there is the KLF who are waging a war on the icy continent of Kaytoo against the Republic. There are also two new women in Janol's life: Golrin, an agent for the Republic, and Safron, a news reporter. Meanwhile, Janol's girlfriend and his best friend travel north, back to the Spire, in order to make the Beesidians a threat they cannot ignore. Janol (with Onnil's help) has already destroyed an Evil Empire, but was it the wrong one? And who is the wombat?
