This is intended to be an easy-to-understand and Bible-based introduction for the entire congregation and all interested parties.
It explains how the New Testament writings came into being and what their essential content is.
This introduction takes seriously the self-testimony of the biblical books and the reports of early Christian authors such as Papias, Irenaeus, Clement, and Eusebius, who were much closer to the historical events than today's Bible critics. Dr. Lothar Gassmann is a theologian and publicist. In his teaching activities in congregations, Bible schools, and academies, he taught dogmatics, apologetics, and the New Testament.
