This is a true story of the shipwreck of the steamship La Bourgogne, July 4, 1898. I entitled it BELIEVE because the revelation of this story to me late in my life helps me to BELIEVE in God more than ever. Were it not for my Great-grandfather Adrien Lacasse I would not be alive, nor my son, nor my four siblings, nor many many family members. Adrien miraculously saved his wife, my Great-grandmother, Victoire from the perils of La Bourgogne. She was the ONLY female survivor out of 739 passengers aboard La Bourgogne. That either of them survived is a miracle. They later had one son, Robert Adrien Lacasse, my Grandfather. I hope you enjoy this story, the pictures that tell their own story, and find it inspirational as I do.
