Pete the Panda lives a typical panda life - eating bamboo, climbing trees, sleeping and swimming. Indeed, tomorrow brings a bamboo patch that has not been cut down, and Pete and Pat have a great day eating bamboo, climbing trees, sleeping and swimming. The value in the story is that it teaches children both that human actions can affect the environment around them and that even when things seem gloomy, there is still hope. We never know what tomorrow may bring.
