Philochristus is a novel that follows the life of a fictional disciple named Philochristus who is said to have lived during the time of Jesus Christ. The book is written in the form of a memoir, with Philochristus recounting his experiences and interactions with Jesus and the other disciples. The story begins with Philochristus as a young man, living in Galilee and working as a fisherman. He is drawn to Jesus and becomes one of his followers, traveling with him and witnessing his miracles and teachings. Throughout the book, Philochristus provides a firsthand account of many of the events described in the Bible, including the feeding of the 5,000, the Sermon on the Mount, and the Last Supper. The novel also explores the relationships between the disciples and the challenges they faced as they followed Jesus. Philochristus describes his own struggles with doubt and fear, as well as the conflicts that arose among the disciples. Overall, Philochristus offers a unique perspective on the life of Jesus and the early Christian movement. The book is written in a lyrical and poetic style, with vivid descriptions of the landscapes and people of ancient Israel. It is a compelling story of faith, friendship, and the transformative power of love.1916. When the author perceived it was not his place to portray any character of the Lord as he was in himself, Philochristus decided to set forth a history of his own life; wherein, as in a mirror, possibly the reader may discern some lineaments of the countenance of Christ, as seen by reflection, in the life of one who loved Him.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
