Miss Sybil, the colonel's daughter, volunteered saying, I can ride as well as any man. And my horse, Star, knows the woods! Jake and Emily met Miss Sybil about half way through her journey. She did not know if she could make it in the dark and cold, driving rain.. The kids assured her she could make it if she didn't give up. Her forty mile ride was going to be part of history. With that, she had a fresh burst of energy and continued her ride to gather the militia.
