Author Reneé Drummond-Brown weaves the imagination from the Hood's perspective of folklore stories, fairy tales, lullaby's, legends, and myths into her book Poetic Tales in 'Da Hood. The author revised those stories through the eyes of a black child's point of view, which puts claims to poems like Rumpelstealsskin A Fairy 'Tail Bedtime Story, Three Lil' Pigs, and Dreadlocks and the Three Bears, vs. Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a British 19th-century fairy-tale of which three versions exist. Drummond-Brown's book by far adds flavor and depth to an oral history that has passed down from generation to generation.
