Every establishment is decidedly commendable, yet that of Dutch literature indisputably takes the crown: a host of brilliant poet-deities striving to endow young upstarts and outsiders with prizes and subsidies, while in newspapers and at festivals, they exemplify precisely how not to behave.
It's no surprise that there are often acolytes who yearn to involve themselves with this morbid industry. However, there are only two possible outcomes: either they truly don't understand the way of things, or they are embraced and encapsulated in mercy by the established order, which is rather fond of a little sparring match of euthanasia.
