Mrs E. Parker wrote for the fancier: breed history and points, the practical business of breeding and rearing, management, and the preparation of a dog for exhibition. She was writing in the period when British classification still gathered every size of German Spitz under the one name and separated them by weight at shows - so a good deal of what she describes has since been reorganised out of existence.
The Popular Pomeranian is reprinted from the original text and artwork, with the photographs of the leading dogs of the day.
