Sartre, por sua vez, recusa qualquer explicação que absolva o indivÃduo de sua liberdade radical, afirmando que somos responsáveis por aquilo que fazemos de nós mesmos. O diálogo se constrói na fricção entre essas duas posições, revelando que o humano não é nem totalmente determinado, nem absolutamente livre.
