Este livro reúne duas fases do autor - próximas no tempo, mas radicalmente diferentes no olhar.
Na Segunda Parte, Painéis & Autorias, escrita entre 1986 e 1987, e publicada em livro homônimo, surge um jovem inquieto, lÃrico e experimental. São textos que misturam conceitos abstratos, metáforas, ação e reflexão, marcados pela energia da juventude e pela busca de sentido para a vida. Essa obra foi reconhecida pela antologia Roteiro da Poesia Brasileira (Global Editora), que incluiu três de seus poemas.
Já a Primeira Parte apresenta poemas feitos em 1988 e 1989, com um estilo mais homogêneo e definido. Não há mais inquietação filosófica nem abstrações, e sim observação. O autor registra o mundo que enxerga, sem julgá-lo, mediante imagens precisas e rimas interntas.
O tÃtulo do livro, como diz o autor no Prólogo, remete ao pintor que, da sombra de sua barraca ou casa, reproduz cenas e paisagens sob o sol. E completa: Cem por cento deste livro foi feito no Rio, por isso o subtÃtulo.
