In a modern world that is ruled by demon lords and their cults, who can gift their high priests or a few they deem worthy with magic or powers, we find our protagonist who is a bit of an oddball in this world. One's membership to a cult is highly connected to the people's identity and development in this world. Tradition has the children being raised in the same cult as their parents until they are old enough to choose to stay in that cult or to join another cult. Our protagonist is an oddball because she hasn't accepted any cult, not even the one her parents are in. That is because her parents' cult is one that tends to the burials of the dead and as such their work so often involves cemeteries which are locations where she can never feel comfortable in. Whenever she steps foot in a cemetery an odd feeling envelops her and freaks her out. Freaks her out enough that she can never bring herself to express her membership to her parents cult. Which has resulted with scorn and ridicule from those around her.

One day things change for her. A lot of changes in fact. Changes that will irreversibly change her life. First she sees the light, a bit literal and metaphorical, that leads her to take the first steps into choosing a cult for herself. Then the Queen Ghoul and her ghoulies trap her in the last place that she would ever want to be, a crypt. Though being trapped in this crypt brings the greatest changes to her life. Changes that serves as a catalyst that drags her into a global conspiracy that threatens their world's way of life.

Armed with newfound powers and accompanied by a crypt guardian our protagonist makes the decision to act. To do what she can to save her world. This leads to a globe trotting adventure of action, loss, budding romance, and interacting with a demon lord or two. Though the first demon lord she meets isn't what she expected. This demon lord has a laissez faire attitude and doesn't seem to want to be involved in the affairs of the world. Content to lend our protagonist aid and allow her to do what she deems right to do. The question now is, do you wish to join the protagonist on her globe trotting quest to save her world?
