The Rainbow Trail is a Western novel by Zane Grey, originally published in 1915. The story is a sequel to Grey's earlier novel, Riders of the Purple Sage, and follows the further adventures of the cowboy hero, Lassiter. The novel is set in the rugged landscape of southern Utah, where Lassiter is on the trail of his lost love, Jane Withersteen. Along the way, he encounters a group of Mormon settlers who are being persecuted by a corrupt and powerful leader, Elder Tull. Lassiter becomes embroiled in the conflict, taking up the cause of the settlers and fighting against Tull and his followers. As the story unfolds, Lassiter must navigate the complex web of relationships and alliances among the settlers, including a young woman named Fay Larkin who is caught between loyalty to her people and her love for a non-Mormon outsider. Meanwhile, Lassiter's search for Jane Withersteen takes him deeper into the wilderness, where he faces new dangers and challenges. The Rainbow Trail is a classic Western adventure, full of action, romance, and vivid descriptions of the rugged landscape of the American West. It explores themes of love, loyalty, and justice, and offers a compelling portrait of the clash between different cultures and values in the frontier era.Yes. He wanted to stay, and I had work there that'll keep him awhile. Shefford, we got news of Shadd--bad news. The half-breed's cutting up rough. His gang shot up some Piutes over here across the line. Then he got run out of Durango a few weeks ago for murder. A posse of cowboys trailed him. But he slipped them. He's a fox. You know he was trailing us here. He left the trail, Nas Ta Bega said. I learned at Stonebridge that Shadd is well disposed toward Mormons. It takes the Mormons to handle Indians. Shadd knows of this village and that's why he shunted off our trail. But he might hang down in the pass and wait for us.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
