Today, Africa is going through a crucial phase in its history, marked by a growing rejection of French influence and military presence. This gradual rupture in relations between the former African colonies and France is not an isolated phenomenon, but rather a reflection of a global context in which the former colonial powers are facing profound challenges. The question of Africa's sovereignty, long compromised by neo-colonialism, is now at the heart of African peoples' concerns. Why are we witnessing such a wave of rejection of the French military presence in Africa? In this analysis, I attempt to retrace the origins of Franco-African relations, from the earliest days of colonization to the present day. Through a historical, socio-political and geopolitical approach, the aim of this book is to understand why and how the rupture between Africa and France is manifesting itself, drawing on recent events: coups d'état and the breakdown of military agreements.
