The Role of ijtihad in Legislation is originally a lecture delivered by the great Muslim thinker and reformer Ayatullah Murtada Mutahhari after the death of Ayatullah Burūjirdī in 1962, in which he surveys and expounds the concept of ijtihād and its characteristics.
