He lives in Gorizia, a historically borderland city in northeastern Italy.
His work focuses on Shi'ite Islam, Persian and Islamic philosophy, Safavid Iran, and the relationship between metaphysical thought and lived religious practice. Alongside his scholarly research, he is an established poet writing in Italian, with a body of work characterized by philosophical density and symbolic precision.
