When a family of shape-shifting alien lizards crash-lands on Earth during a routine cosmic expedition, their only hope of survival is to blend into the most dangerous environment known to the galaxy:
Suburbia.
Disguised as the perfectly average Miller family, Zara, Victor, Selena, and Kevin infiltrate Maple Grove Estates-a neighborhood ruled not by politicians or warriors, but by something far more terrifying:
a hyper-vigilant Homeowners Association.
Zara plots to secretly summon Lucifer and initiate the apocalypse, believing humans are fragile, disorganized creatures ripe for destruction. But once Lucifer actually appears-wearing yoga pants, no less-he explains that humanity doesn't need help causing chaos. They've already weaponized it through parking lots, group chats, and seasonal events.
As Zara learns the art of Human Chaos Theory, HOA president Karen Worthington becomes suspicious. Very suspicious. Binder-full-of-evidence suspicious. She launches an investigation that nearly exposes the Millers' tails, scales, and infernal visitors.
With the PTA, HOA committees, and accidental demonic squirrels spiraling out of control, Lucifer finally offers Zara a choice:
Trigger the end of the world...
or study the humans who are surprisingly good at ending things on their own.
Zara chooses to stay-for now.
But as Karen swears to uncover the Millers' true identity and an unseen cosmic entity draws closer, the Millers realize something chilling:
Earth may be far more dangerous than they are.
And the apocalypse might just have to wait for Book 2.
