Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson apply their investigative and reasoning skills to confirm the authenticity of an ancient manuscript, the Gospel of Matthew. Sherlock Holmes occupied his usual place by the window, his gaunt figure draped in a threadbare dressing gown, a solitary silhouette against the subdued light of the morning. His long fingers steepled beneath his chin, his piercing grey eyes fixed upon some invisible point beyond the fog. On the table before him rested a weathered manuscript, its leather binding cracked with age and its edges frayed, bearing silent testimony to countless hands and journeys.
