Escrita durante el encarcelamiento del Marqués de Sade en la famosa cárcel de Bastilla, 120 dÃas de Sodoma no vio la luz hasta inicios del siglo XX, ya que estuvo escondida por más de tres generaciones, probablemente incautada al autor junto con otros manuscritos, debido a la reputación de libertino y propenso a los excesos. Esta obra es sin duda una de la lecturas imprescindibles -para Iwan Bloch, considerado el fundador de la ciencia sexual, es una de las obras cumbre de la humanidad- para adentrarse en la psique del ser humano.
