ABC Pastel de Manzana es un libro para niños de primaria sobre la historia de un pastel de manzana y cómo algunos habitantes del pueblo se relacionan con él de diversas maneras solo por comerlo. Con esta los niños pueden aprender el abecedario y el uso de algunos verbos en tiempo pasado mientras leen, además, los niños tienen la oportunidad de aprender nuevos verbos poco usados. Además, los más pequeños pueden aprender el orden alfabético.
Nota del editor: La ilustradora inglesa Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) de Londres, ilustro y publico un popular libro llamado A Apple Pie basado en una rima popular con este mismo nombre. El libro se publicó por primera vez en 1886. En la versión antigua A Apple Pie, las letras I y J y de la U y la V se trataban como una sola sin diferenciación lo que explica la ausencia de estas dos vocales en las ilustraciones de Greenaway. Todas las ilustraciones con excepción de la portada y la página del tÃtulo son ilustraciones de Kate Greenaway. La ilustración de las páginas de la letra E, H, L, N, Q y U son imágenes de Kate Greenaway reorganizadas y tocadas digitalmente por Maria Aduke Alabi.
