Aventuras del capitán Hatteras narra la historia del capitán inglés Hatteras, que embarca a un grupo de valientes en el Avante, un avanzado barco de vela y vapor construido especialmente para la expedición, con el objetivo de ser los primeros en llegar a las tierras ignotas del Polo Norte.
