After Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Mexican literature was relatively barren until well into the 19th century, and even then continued to be lacking in works created by women... until Elena Garro came on the scene. That demonstrates the greatness of the author of La semana de colores, Andamos huyendo Lola, El accidente y otros cuentos, and others. This book collects all of her short stories plus two previously unpublished works, with a prologue by Geney Beltrán Félix.
