Componen este Dossier seis trabajos de los que cinco no habÃan sido hasta ahora traducidos al castellano. Cinco de los seis, están centrados en la aventura de Gabrielle D'Annunzio en Fiume y el sexto constituye un estudio sobre su obra dedicada a Cola de Rienzo. Ahora explicaremos el motivo de esta inclusión.
La introducción corre a cargo de Georges Feltin Tracol, autor de varios estudios sobre el fascismo francés y sobre Julius Evola. Sirve de presentación para los ensayos que va na seguir, el más improtante de los cuales fue escrito por el historiador Pierre Benoist-Mechin para la revista La Pensée Nationale, en 1975.
Este historiador fue encargado por el propio D'Annunzio de difundir el proyecto de Constitución de la Regencia Italiana de Carnaro en Francia, pero solamente estuvo en condiciones de hacerlo tardÃamente. Y lo hizo con un ensayo previo en el que cuenta la aventura del poeta en Fiume. Luego, tras ofrecer el texto del proyecto de constitución, analiza su contenido.
El siguiente texto, escrito por Jacques Gouder, se publicó en la misma revista, en el número 12 correspondiente al verano de 1976 y constituye una valoración sobre lo que hizo de D'Annunzio una forma de protofascismo, pero también sobre el momento tardÃo en el que los caminos del poeta y de Mussolini se bifurcaron.
El siguiente ensayo, publicado sin firma en una revista de extrema izquierda, Redskin Limoges, muestra el interés que existe en el otro extremo polÃtico por recuperar algunos aspectos de la actuación de D'Annunzio en Fiume.
Hemos extraÃdo de la tesis doctoral de Aitor Aurrekoetxea, titulada Futurismo italianos y fascismo paradigmático: estética y polÃtica, el capÃtulo en el que aborda las diferencias entre dos personajes que parecen muy continuos: Marinetti y D'Annunzio.
Finalmente, hemos traducido el trabajo de Johannes Bartuschat, titulado La vida de Cola de Rienzo y su modelo medieval. Es curioso como la vida de este tribuno medieval suscitó el interés de Bulwer-Lyton, de Richard Wagner y, a través de este último, de Adolf Hitler, el cual entró en trance (lo cuenta su amigo, August Kubizek, testigo de aquella ocasión). Es curioso que D'Annunzio se interesara por el mismo personaje, como si por una especie de vórtice espacio-temporal, algunos hombres notables del siglo XIX y XX, hubieran intuido que su destino era paralelo al del tribuno romano.
Estos seis trabajos dan una visión muy completa -y, lo que es más importante- desde distintos ángulos, sobre el poeta, sobre su aventura y sobre su papel en el nacimiento del fascismo.
