La Escalera del Medio es un tratado iniciático que acompaña al masón en su tránsito del grado de Aprendiz al de Compañero. No es un manual técnico ni una colección de fórmulas rituales, sino una obra de contemplación, estudio y despertar interior. A través de un lenguaje poético y simbólico, Alessandro Lattore conduce al lector por los senderos del Arte Real, donde cada herramienta, número y figura revela una enseñanza sobre el alma humana.
El libro se estructura en cuatro partes que reflejan la evolución espiritual del Compañero. En la primera, El Viaje del Compañero, se exploran los sÃmbolos fundacionales: el pentagrama y el número cinco, las columnas J y B como umbral de equilibrio, y el significado de caminar entre polaridades sin perder el centro. En la segunda, El Lenguaje de los SÃmbolos, se profundiza en la geometrÃa sagrada, el número áureo, las proporciones divinas y la relación entre ciencia y espiritualidad, mostrando que el cosmos es un templo de armonÃa que también debe construirse en el interior del iniciado.
La tercera parte, El Compañero como Hijo de Hermes, presenta la Escalera de los Siete Peldaños como sÃmbolo alquÃmico del ascenso del alma, el viaje hacia el centro del templo interior y la búsqueda de la Palabra perdida. Finalmente, en la cuarta parte, Estudios y Meditaciones Complementarias, se desarrollan los sentidos como instrumentos de perfección, las órdenes clásicas de la arquitectura como virtudes del alma, y los antiguos sistemas del Trivium y el Quadrivium como caminos hacia una sabidurÃa integral donde ciencia y virtud se entrelazan.
Cada capÃtulo invita al silencio, a la observación y al trabajo consciente. La piedra bruta, la regla, la plomada, el compás y las columnas dejan de ser elementos del taller para convertirse en espejos del propio espÃritu. El Compañero es llamado a trazar, medir y comprender, no sólo a construir, sino a construirse.
Lattore entrelaza la simbologÃa masónica con la Cábala, la alquimia y la filosofÃa hermética, revelando la correspondencia entre el microcosmos humano y el macrocosmos divino. El resultado es una obra de profundidad y belleza que restituye al oficio masónico su sentido original: el arte de elevar el alma mediante la inteligencia, la virtud y la contemplación.
