La joya de las montañas relata la historia de Orosia, princesa de Bohemia que a través del martirio que sufre a manos de los moros se convierte en patrona de Jaca. El obispo Arcisclo se presenta en la corte de Bohemia con el propósito de pedir la mano de Orosia para Fortún Garcés, prÃncipe de Aragón. El obispo narra la pérdida de España y cómo el islám se extiende por el paÃs. La princesa acepta inspirada por un ángel pero es apresada por los musulmanes y pretendida por uno de sus oficiales. Al final de La joya de las montañas Orosia prefiere el martirio antes que someterse a hombres de otra religión.
