In a place where the fog and the rain battle each other to the death, JeremÃas searches tirelessly for his kidnapped granddaughter. He encounters nothing but obstacles: the plague of dead mice littering the streets, the inscrutable proprietress of the rundown hotel where he finds lodging and her midget assistant, the sinister albino who hides a secret, the children playing soccer with severed heads, the flock of nuns preaching doom.
