Desde niña tuve predilección por la literatura, por las artes en general. Gustaba de los libros, de los creadores que se destacaban en cualquier manifestación, José Ramón Mariscal Grandales fue uno de ellos.
Lo admiré porque además de escuchar los criterios que sobre él se emitÃan, pude conocerlo personalmente.

Casi todo lo decÃa en versos.
Logré contar con su libro Lira Viajera, disfrutaba leerlo.
Conocer a Mariscal fue un regalo. Pude saber que la miseria puede mantenernos alejados de riquezas, de bienes materiales, pero jamás de dones que nos da la vida como el de la inteligencia para crear.
De formación autodidacta, logró hacer una obra de contenido serio y también humorÃstico con una variedad increÃble de temas.
Se vinculó a personas de pueblo, muchos de ellos poetas con los que compartÃa sus creaciones.
Una vida llena de carencias no le impidió mantener su sonrisa.
Resultan impresionantes los criterios que sobre el poeta emiten los testimoniantes.
