El villano en su rincón es una obra de teatro del dramaturgo español Félix Lope de Vega, publicada por primera vez en 1617, si bien se data su composición entre 1611 y 1616.
A las puertas de ParÃs vive Juan Labrador, un rico campe-sino y súbdito fiel a su soberano, dispuesto a sacrificar sus bienes materiales si el monarca asà lo ordena y dispuesto también a entregar para servicio del rey a sus dos hijos, deseosos de vivir en la Corte.
Sin embargo, en El villano en su rincón, Juan Labrador está a su vez satisfecho de su forma de vivir. Hasta el punto que escribe con antelación su propio epitafio, haciendo constar que fue feliz sin necesidad de conocer al rey.
La satisfacción de Juan con su forma de vida persiste hasta el final de la comedia y se manifiesta en una sentencia suya: Porque morir en mi rincón quisiera.
Juan se siente rey entre sus campos y no envidia la brillantez que rodea a la realeza efectiva.
