STILL LIFE WITH HOMELESS MEN contains 5 contemporary, Post-Modernist, often funny, poems and 11 original B/W photographs.
STILL LIFE WITH HOMELESS MEN (the book), is composed in the simple language and unique, home-grown style of my poetry--what I call organic naturalism--deceptively simple, direct, non-synthetic, non-AI-deformed, non-boring, frequently humorous and entertaining.

A brief description of included poems is the best way to describe this book.
STILL LIFE WITH HOMELESS MEN (the title poem) is an actual interaction between the narrator and Ziggy, a homeless man outside the Art Institute of Chicago.
SHALLOW POOL is a real life series of events in which the narrator observes (& interacts with) interesting incidents in a concrete, shallow pool of water.
The pool, ignored by everyone, is a stage for odd, funny, amazing, and sometimes dramatic, life-or-death events.
THAT GLORIOUS LINE is about the narrator standing in line to get a ticket to the golden gated community.
THE CLOISTERS (originally a take-off of a painting), becomes a wild conversation between two drunk monks on their way to the annual Brethren Brotherly Love Shindig.
THOUGHTS OF ETERNAL THINGS is set in ancient Greece, in which the narrator has a conversation with Plato. The narrator develops a great idea for Plato and his little group of lazy, good-for-nothing bums(including Socrates), who just stand around all day on the steps of the Parthenon blathering about air, fire, earth, and water
THAT'S A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THESE 5 WILDLY UNIQUE & ENTERTAINING & THOUGHT-PROVOKING POEMS!
